Satamaparkki is an online system that enables you to book and pay your parking in advance via Satamaparkki gives you access to discounts that are only available online and you don’t have to queue at pay machines.

The new, spacious Satamaparkki parking facility was opened at the West Harbour in February, offering 700 parking spaces, 18 of which can be used for charging an electric or hybrid vehicle. In addition to regular parking services, the facility features Premium-level indoor parking spaces. Premium parking spaces are located on the 1st floor of the Satamaparkkitalo parking facility, only minutes away from the departure gates of ship terminals 1 and 2. The premium parking spaces are wider than the traditional ones, making them ideal for families with children, for example. The premium parking booked in advance also offer the chance to charge an electric vehicle free-of-charge, using renewable energy.

Uusiutuvaa energiaa

The online service has been developed in cooperation between the Port of Helsinki and Futurice.
“Our new online parking service has raised a lot of interest among car drivers who value the ease of travel,” says Marika Pauli, the Head of Passenger Services and Property Development at the Port of Helsinki.

“It has been great to see how much focus the Port of Helsinki puts on customer needs when developing its services. In the planning and implementation of this booking service, it can be seen well in the way they have moved forward while prioritizing customer needs, even though this required them to sometimes step out of their comfort zone and apply new methods. This is sure to reflect positively on the end result,” says Futurice’s Designer Jymy Parhiala
