WWF Finland audited the environmental programme of the Port of Helsinki’s head office last week. Satamatalo passed the inspection and was granted the right to use Green Office’s panda label.

Green Office is an environmental management system for offices developed by WWF Finland, and its purpose is to help workplaces reduce their environmental impact, increase the environmental awareness of employees and achieve cost savings.
The Green Office network of WWF Finland includes 148 organisations. There are 345 offices in total with 58,800 employees.
“The Green Office label is proof that Satamatalo’s environmental management system meets WWF’s criteria and that we are committed to continuous improvement,” says the Port’s environmental specialist, Anton Airas.
“We were especially praised for our well-implemented action plan, and the thanks for this go to the Port’s Green Office team!”
“We have been able to reduce Satamatalo’s carbon footprint with e.g. energy-efficient facility automation and by increasing recycling. This means that we have been smarter about using natural resources. Naturally, we have to keep up the good work, and the audit also brought up some matters on which we will focus more in the future.”
