The parking of passengers’ vehicles will change in the West Harbour of Helsinki. The current field parking areas will gradually grow smaller and finally be removed altogether as the urban construction of the Jätkäsaari area progresses. At first, the long-term parking for passengers moved to temporary facilities in June 2020.
The new Royal Park carpark is currently being constructed near West Terminal 2. In the future, this carpark will also serve ship passengers. The modern parking service will make it easy for users to reserve parking spaces, park their vehicles and pay for parking. The carpark will be taken into use in early 2021.
Long-term parking moves temporarily to P-Atlas carpark
Before the new carpark is ready, ship passengers will have access to 360 long-term parking spaces, floors 3-8, in the new P-Atlas carpark, in addition to short-term field parking. P-Atlas is owned by the City of Helsinki and located by Länsisatamankatu street (address: Länsisatamankatu 35).
West Terminal 2 and West Terminal 1 are 600 metres and approximately an 8-minute walk away.
In the P-Atlas carpark, users have access to the Easypark and Parkman mobile payment solutions. You can also see the price of the parking in advance by using the parking calculator for the Harbour https://www.portofhelsinki.fi/en/passengers/parking-terminals.
Take the tram to the terminal
Ship passengers may also use the frequent tramway connections (lines 7 and 6T) to the terminals instead of private cars.
There are also popular city bike stations nearby (check the locations and availability of the bikes here: https://kaupunkipyorat.hsl.fi/en/helsinki/stations).
