Katajanokka terminal is preparing for the summer season. Viking Line’s MS Gabriella starts operating every second day on 12 June 2021 and the MS XPRS will continue to make the trip to Tallinn twice a day.
Compass Group, Port of Helsinki’s new restaurant service partner, will open a bar and café for ferry passengers on the 2nd floor of the terminal a week later, on Friday 18 June 2021, with exceptional opening hours: On days of Gabriella’s departure, from 11.30 am until the ferry’s departure. The needs of different passenger groups have been taken into account well: the selection includes beverages, café products and light snacks. The services will be expanded as passenger numbers increase.
Tasty restaurant experiences to be expected later in the autumn

Katajanokka terminal will have a total of four points of sale later this year: bar and café on the 2nd floor, bistro on the 3rd floor and a kiosk on the first floor. The casual bistro on the third floor has a wide selection and operates in newly renovated, comfortable and functional premises. The bistro also serves lunch for local residents and workers, among others. Even seminars, meetings or other events can be organised there.
The services of the café-kiosk on the first floor are open to all, including passengers, local residents and workers. In addition to a basic kiosk selection, the modern street-level kiosk café offers grab-and-go snacks and small take-away meals.
“The travel experience starts when you arrive at the terminal and enjoy yourself there before your ferry even sails. The restaurant renovations in Katajanokka will bring targeted services to different passenger groups and, later on, new services to local residents as well,” says Marika Pauli, Head of Passenger Services & Property Development at the Port of Helsinki.
“In the summer, our services will be slightly limited due to restrictions, but we hope that in the autumn we will also be able to open the services on the other floors. The beautifully renovated premises and the diverse seasonal options create a wonderful setting for both passengers and others who happen to be in the area to relax and enjoy delicious food and drink,” says Restaurant Manager Henna Högström.
