In March, Viking Line will bring its Cinderella ferry back to the Helsinki–Mariehamn–Stockholm route. The ferry will also start sailing under the Finnish flag. Its first departure from Helsinki will be on 9 March 2024.

Cinderella was built in 1989, and was famous in Finland in the 1990s for its 24-hour cruises. At 191 metres long, Cinderella was the first large ferry to focus on pleasure cruises. For the past 20 years, it has mainly been running from Stockholm to Mariehamn. The ferry is currently painted white, as pictured, but the shipping company plans to reinstate its former, primarily red, livery.

“The weather during winter docking will determine whether the new paintwork will be finished by March,” says Viking Line’s Press Relations Manager, Christa Grönlund.
