Cargo and passenger harbours
Cargo usually passes through the harbours of Helsinki in containers, lorries, trailers or other large units. The Vuosaari cargo harbour serves container and RoRo traffic. The passenger harbours in the city centre – West Harbour, South Harbour and Katajanokka Harbour – receive a significant amount of rubber-wheeled traffic, such as trucks, lorries and trailers carrying cargo, along with the busy passenger ferry traffic.
The Port of Loviisa is a subsidiary of the Port of Helsinki, a service centre specialising in industrial cargo, which expands the Port of Helsinki’s services beyond passenger and bulk cargo traffic.
