Photo exhibition on the history of the Olympic Terminal and the Port

Mustavalkoisia valokuvia seinällä.

A small photographic exhibition was opened at the Olympic Terminal this week to allow visitors to dive back decades and experience how tourism and the Port have changed. Come along and learn more about the maritime history of Helsinki!

The exhibition and the stories available by scanning QR codes depict how the harbour has evolved from a rocky shore to an international gateway to the world. Did you know that a diving company used to salvage treasures from the sea as early as centuries ago? And that all the items were reused and recycled already back then? At the same time, you will also learn how the operations and environment of the Port have shaped Helsinki into a more sustainable city long before environmental awareness was part of our everyday life.

The exhibition is free of charge and open to all during terminal opening hours.

Tour of Olympic-themed buildings

In addition to the photographic exhibition, the Port of Helsinki offers visitors the opportunity to take a tour of the Olympic-themed buildings in Helsinki guided by a digital guide. Take a tour guide with you on a cycling trip or play it by ear and join our audio tour of architecture and history around Helsinki.
