Safe operation in harbour areas
Access permits, occupational safety instructions and traffic regulations are applicable to all those working in and using vehicles to get around in closed harbour areas.
Ship crews have their own safety instructions.
A permit is always required to move around within the closed harbour areas of all harbours of the Port of Helsinki.
At Vuosaari Harbour, pedestrian and bicycle traffic are prohibited in the closed harbour area, and access by vehicle is always subject to a permit. You can only obtain an access permit if you have successfully completed the driver safety induction course.
At passenger harbours (i.e. West Harbour, Katajanokka Harbour and South Harbour), you must complete a safety induction in advance before you can obtain an access permit.
