Current ISPS Security Level: Marsec Level One |
ISPS area is surrounded by fence and manual gates from all directions. The fence and gates will separate the ISPS-area from surrounding infrastructure. The width of area is between 3 and 60 meters depending the port facility.
Only routes to the ISPS area are through the gates which are guarded by the security guards during the ship’s visit. Guards are provided by a private security company.
All of the port facilities are CCTV monitored 24/7.
Access Control
All the people must have valid permit to enter the ISPS area. This permit is always checked by the guards.
Access is granted also for the excursion buses, shuttle buses, agents, suppliers and guides, if there is an advance notification.
Read more about the access control at Passenger Harbours
Security checks
Security checks are carried out randomly.
Security screening is possible to arrange if it is requested in advance (two weeks before the call) by the ship or agent. Security screening is chargeable service. Security control is carried out by a private security company.
Ship Security is allowed to support the shore side security personnel. However the Finnish legislation (Act on Security Measures on certain Ships and in Ports serving them and on monitoring the Security Measures) prohibits ship security to perform security check on shore side.
