Every year, we support selected events, organisations and projects that promote the wellbeing of the Baltic Sea or a sense of community in the areas surrounding our harbours. Through sponsorship, we want to play our part in building a vibrant maritime Helsinki and support activities that are important to us.

We have one call for sponsorship applications each year. The next call will open in February 2027.

What do we support?

We select the causes we sponsor based on two themes.

The Baltic Sea and the marine environment

The sea is the foundation of our operations. That is why we support projects that promote the wellbeing of the Baltic Sea, maritime culture, environmental protection and sustainable development.

A sense of community in the areas surrounding our harbours

We want to be a good neighbour and support activities that promote a sense of community, inclusion and wellbeing in the areas surrounding our harbours. We may sponsor local events, associations, youth sports and other community activities, for example.

Long-term partnerships

Some of our collaborations take the form of long-term partnerships.

Through a three-year partnership agreement, we support the John Nurminen Foundation) in its work towards a cleaner Baltic Sea. We also support the SOS Children’s Village’s ‘Grandma and Grandpa’s House’ in Vuosaari. The house is a meeting place for families with children and aged volunteers. At the house, the families and volunteers cook together and spend time playing games and engaging in various other activities. There is also always an SOS Children’s Village employee present. All families with children from the local area are welcome to visit the house.

Sponsorship is, above all, a form of collaboration for us. We want to highlight our partners’ activities on our own communication channels, and we hope that this collaboration will also be reflected in our partners’ communications.

We have one call for sponsorship applications each year. We evaluate applications based on how well they support the priorities and objectives of our sponsorship programme.
