The Port of Helsinki together with its partners promotes solutions that take the private sector and the maritime industry towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly shipping and sea travel.

The Port of Helsinki’s cooperation with its partners is based on the values of the Port – responsibility, cooperation and effectiveness – and its strategy and position as the most important port in Finland and a notable contributor to the industries of Helsinki city centre and the entire Helsinki region.

The Port of Helsinki engages in sponsorship, marketing and communication partnerships with companies and communities that embody aspects valued by the Port and contribute to the Port’s objectives. An effective partnership benefits both parties; conveys information about the Port’s values, objectives, solutions and efforts; strengthens relations; and increases public understanding of the maritime industry and port operations.

The Port of Helsinki engages in cooperation under two main themes:

  • sustainable development and the marine environment
  • inclusion, community and teamwork.

The Port’s support activities focus on:

  • the protection of the Baltic Sea and the environment (and related research), responsibility
  • local areas and local activities and events.

The Port’s sponsorship and marketing cooperation can consist of long-term, contract-based cooperation, small-scale support or notices of support.

Stakeholder cooperation

Stakeholder cooperation is an integral part of the Port’s operations. The Port of Helsinki maintains contact with its stakeholders, organises events and meetings and participates in events relevant to the industry and the Port’s operations.

The aim is to engage in active dialogue to gain insight into the business environment and the challenges and opportunities related to social responsibility.
