Ship mooring and unmooring services are provided in Helsinki by South Finland Port Service and Nordic Port Services.

The mooring and unmooring of liner traffic is taken care of in accordance with confirmed schedules and for international cruise ships in accordance with notifications submitted through ship agents.

West Harbour in Helsinki has an automated mooring system at berths LJ7 and LJ8. The system consists of MoorMaster units, which utilise suction to pull the side of the boat towards the quay’s fenders, with the help of vacuum panels. The system speeds up the mooring and unmooring of vessels. At the same time, the system reduces vessels’ fuel consumption and air emissions.

The first automooring system was introduced in Helsinki in winter 2016–2017.
