The Port of Helsinki Ltd is taking care of the comfort and well-being of its employees and the local residents and operators in its neighbouring areas. Statutory employer, organisational and environmental obligations are a self-evident starting point for operations, but the targets are set higher to achieve significantly better results.

Cooperation with the residents

Earning the trust of the residents of Helsinki is one of the Port’s key goals. Being a good and trusted neighbour is pursued and developed through active cooperation with nearby communities, companies and city district associations, as well as by communicating openly and actively on the Port’s operations. 

A safe port

The Port of Helsinki wants to be a safe working environment both for its own employees as well as all other employees working in the port area. 

The Port of Helsinki’s occupational health and safety operations have been certified and meet the requirements of the ISO 45001 standard.

The goals of the occupational safety work of the Port of Helsinki include

  • zero occupational accidents
  • reduction of absences due to sickness or accidents
  • development of the occupational safety culture.
