Access Permits
In passenger harbours, working in closed harbour areas (quay and field areas, properties) requires an access permit for both workers and any vehicles used for the work. A valid access permit is also required in Vuosaari Harbour for vehicles carrying cargo, ship maintenance traffic and passenger traffic.
At passenger harbours (West Harbour, Katajanokka Harbour and South Harbour, the request for access permit must be addressed to the contractor (e.g. shipping company, telecommunications operator, Port of Helsinki Ltd). A prerequisite for obtaining the access permit is the completion of a safety induction in advance.
Access permits for passenger harbours
At Vuosaari Harbour, vehicle access permits are usually granted automatically based on the information provided in a terminal notification. The port operator to whose area the vehicle is going grants the access permit for other vehicle traffic. The prerequisite for obtaining the access permit is the completion of driver’s safety induction in advance.
