The Port of Helsinki engages in charity, sponsorship, marketing and communications cooperation with companies and communities whose operations are in line with our own values of responsibility and cooperation. Two key themes in the various projects and events that we support are sustainable development and the marine environment along with inclusion, communality and cooperation, especially locally near our harbours.

Protecting the Baltic Sea

The Baltic Sea is a vital operating environment for the Port of Helsinki’s operations – as well as our beloved working environment. That is why the Port of Helsinki will support the Baltic Sea through the Baltic Sea Action Group Christmas campaign this year, as well. 

The BSAG campaign will help protect the areas of the Baltic Sea that are the most abundant in species and reduce the nutrient load causing eutrophication.

Quality of daily life and holiday cheer to local residents

Another Christmas tradition of ours is to help the local residents.
With the help of our Christmas donation, the Helsinki Cathedral Parish’s diaconal work will distribute grocery store gift vouchers to low-income families and individuals.

Furthermore, the Port of Helsinki has decided to sponsor the new grandma and grandpa’s house to be established in Vuosaari by SOS Children’s Village. The house is a welcoming meeting place for families with children and aged volunteers. Cooking and playing together strengthen the communal spirit and prevent loneliness.
