Cruise Finland raising awareness of Finland among cruise lines

Cruise Finland is a network established in 2024 to market Finland as a cruise destination in the northern Baltic Sea. The network’s new website was launched at the end of the year at cruisefinland.com.
The Cruise Finland network consists of Finnish ports and travel destinations and also includes tour operators and agents. The Port of Helsinki is one of the founding members of the network.
“Cruise tourism is growing around the world. Finland is still a small player in the sector, but one that has plenty of potential for growth and thus for increasing income from cruise tourism,” says the spokesperson of the network and the Port of Helsinki’s Vice President of Passenger Services Kaj Takolander.
“The best way to raise awareness of and the profile of our country in the Baltic Sea is through cooperation. Our ports and destinations are all distinct, and we want to make the various opportunities that they offer familiar to cruise lines. Finland’s strengths include sustainable tourism and our pleasant climate. Last year, Helsinki ranked number one in the Global Destination Sustainability Index, which measures the sustainability of travel destinations.”
The Cruise Finland network provides cruise lines with comprehensive and up-to-date information on Finnish ports and destinations e.g. at cruise sector events, and the network’s website can be utilised in route planning, port operations, planning destination programmes and marketing, among other things.
