Helsinki Marathon affects traffic on 22 August

The Björn Borg Helsinki Marathon running event will take place on Saturday, 22 August 2026. Parts of the race routes run along public roads and may cause temporary disruptions to vehicular traffic, public transport, pedestrians, and cyclists. Passengers travelling to the ferry terminals are advised to allow extra time for their journey.
The Helsinki Marathon route will require trams to operate on diversion routes and may cause delays to both tram and bus services between approximately 8:10 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Runners will pass the Olympia Terminal and the Katajanokka Terminal, while sections of the route run through the Jätkäsaari area near the West Harbour. The race route also crosses Hernesaarenranta.
Runners will pass the terminals on Saturday according to the following schedule:
- Olympia Terminal: 8:00 am to 9:00 am
- Katajanokka Terminal: 8:20 am to 9:20 am
- Runners in the Jätkäsaari area: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
- Hernesaarenranta crossing: 9:10 am to 3:10 pm
