Tallink’s M/S Victoria I will start using a new quay at Helsinki’s West Harbour on Wednesday, 5 August 2026. The ferry will continue to serve passengers at West Terminal 2, but the new quay will make the walking distance between the terminal and the ship significantly shorter.

Changes make way for refurbishment work

Until now, M/S Victoria I has used a quay near the former T1 terminal, which has already been demolished. The move to the new quay will allow repair work to begin on the LJ6 quay as part of the wider redevelopment of the West Harbour.

The project includes demolishing the existing LJ6 quay, dredging works, manufacturing and installing new quay elements, and procuring and installing new quay equipment. The construction work is scheduled for completion in 2028. Passenger traffic will continue as usual throughout the works.

The West Harbour redevelopment comprises three main elements: expanding the field and quay areas, building a new passenger terminal, and constructing a harbour tunnel that will transfer heavy traffic underground and away from Jätkäsaari’s street network.

The goal is to concentrate Tallinn ferry traffic in Jätkäsaari and create a modern, efficient and more functional port that is seamlessly integrated into the city.
