The 2025 vessel emissions are higher than previously calculated
Due to an error in the emissions calculation software, the amount of CO2e emissions from vessel traffic at the Port of Helsinki in 2025 had to be corrected. Vessel emissions for 2024 increased by 4% and vessel emissions for 2025 increased by 9%. However, the overall picture for the entire port area CO2e emissions remains mostly unchanged.
In 2025, the amount of vessel traffic emissions at the Port of Helsinki was 61,127 tons of CO2e. The rise in vessel emissions led to total port area emissions increasing to 74,211 tons of CO2e.
The correct figures have been revised for the environmental authorities, the VSME report, and the annual report published online.
