Stockholm traffic will be centralised to Katajanokka harbour, which means that Katajanokka will serve all traffic to Stockholm. Tallinn traffic in Katajanokka will be transferred to the West Harbour. These renewals will help reduce the volumes of vehicle traffic to and from Katajanokka.

The goal of the development program is to renew the current passenger terminal to serve two shipping companies. Ships’ berths will also be rearranged.

By the 2030s, Katajanokka Harbour will be a hub for land and sea traffic.

Katajanokka Harbour will be a hub for land and sea traffic by the 2030s, and it will feature first-class passenger services for passenger and car ferry traffic to Sweden. The Katajanokka quays are also available to smaller international cruise ships. 

Good connections are a key element

The City of Helsinki’s tram traffic will continue to serve the Katajanokka Harbour. Another objective of the Port is to develop the vehicle traffic connections with the street and state networks.
